01 FALSE HYPOTHESIS

Since I began to think, formulate my own thoughts
I rejected indoctrination, so many have been taught
You grant unique privilege, to a false hypothesis
I refuse to respect, what you blindly accept
Living? You're just dead
You're dead til death
Refuting, your own logic
Your defense, so flawed
Tradition, a fallacy
How have you not learned this?
I don't need your mental crutch
Living my life for myself
Liberate your mind, take off the blind
Abandon your faith in god

02 PxMxAx

Started out in ’08 playin' hardcore punk
Metal in ’09 yea we changed it up
It’s cool we still rule, metal is great
I’m still a punk, got ethics, I’ll never tolerate
Fuck your shit, we don’t want it, in our community, stay away dude
Rip Degenerics, PxMxAx, gotta maintain a positive metal attitude
For metalheads we’ll pave the way
Pro-feminist also pro-gay
Anti-racist anti-bigots
No room for your white trash shit
Ozzfest sucks, macho shit blows
Fuck your bars, d.i.y. shows
Stressed fuckin’ Out, metal-punk dudes
Gotta maintain, a positive metal attitude

03 DISNEY KIDS

Several years ago I began to realize
That what I’ve been fed my whole life is nothing more than lies
What I’ve taken for truth in stories I’ve been told
Bigoted fairy tales you avariciously wrote
Falsehoods became apparent as I have gotten old
Instead of improvement the truth becomes more remote
Coerce the public eye to consume and to buy
Goods produced internationally thousands of miles from here
Sweatshop controlled labor, bosses watch workers die
You’re oblivious to the fact, your products are stained with foreign tears
How much longer will it take?
For us to eradicate
Corporations like Disney
This is psychological rape
So many say there’s nothing we can do
Change is possible, it’s up to you
Disney kids
And you believed them
Not me, I won't buy it anymore
Not a fucking word

04 BRUNSWICK COPS

Eighteen years old, shipped off to school
The rigors of academia weren't for you
The only values that seemed to get through
Were frat boy ’tudes and right wing views
Out in the real world, what to do?
bite your lip ’til it comes to you, what about the boys in blue?
Be a cop! Having a gun is cool
Out on the streets you'll finally serve a purpose
Fuck with innocent people who don't even deserve it
Release misguided rage, on those you’re trained to hate
Still have permission from the fucking state
Brunswick cops are frat boys are with guns
Rape and homophobia weren’t enough
Serve the interests of a police state
Embodying a system I fucking hate
Spread bigotry behind a badge and a gun
Without your gang’s protection you’ll be done
Stand against social progress, uphold the “law”
I can’t wait to see your final fall
Lash out on those who get drunk and high
Turn a blind eye to real fucking crimes
I’m not the only one who sees through your lies
I’m not the only one awaiting your demise

05 THRASH PATROL

It's Friday night, we're on the prowl
Le'ts hit The Hub, ya know that's how
We roll when we stink up the town
Grab Piels, grab Joose, ya know I'm down
Tired as shit from work but, hey
This bub's gonna charge my batteray
Gotta live like this two days a week
By comparison the other five just so bleak
We killed our bub in the first hour
Now we're drinkin' your keg 'n pissin' in your shower
We won't remember shit, we've lost control
Stressed fuckin' Out, thrash patrol
Thrash patrol will wreck your party
You're ready to finish, we're just gettin' started
If Metallica and Blink are on your iPod
Ya better start prayin' to your stupid god
You're bewildered we mosh to this
Don't be perplexed, get into it!
We'll probably be doin' this gray 'n old
Dudes don't die, thrash patrol
We're reppin' S.O., thrash patrol
Eeveryone knows that we're wild, assholes
How did we get here? No idea
Ask me tomorrow, I won't remember
Who are you people? thrash patrol
I'm tryna eat, asshole
Whose room did I sneak in? No idea
I'd like to apologize but I won't, I won't remember

06 UNACCEPTABLE

Born into a world of hate and violence
Few question what their thoughts represent
We must all speak out, complacency is silence
Oppression everyday, we will not sit content
Homophobic fucking scum need to realize
Break free from the mindset in which you were socialized
To believe is an acceptable way to treat people
Your elitist foundation is so fucking full
Of shit to the brim of your core beliefs
No form of defense for the hate you preach
You’re not welcome in our community
Fuck your marginalization, work towards unity
So sick of defensive hetero arguments
Your system of beliefs is what i stand against
Separate but equal doesn’t fucking work
I said it in ’08, death to fucking jerks
Unacceptable are your views
Get out of our community

07 JOSÉ

you arrived here in '04 seeking opportunity and nothing more such a young man only sixteen you're a braver soul than i could ever be i met you just one day you left quite an impression in the past i've had mixed views but i took heed to your lesson i can't imagine what it was like to be in your shoes fuck society fuck this system fuck these barriers fuck this bigotry i can't begin to imagine josé just what it must’ve been like to raise myself at that age i would have to combine all the hardships that i've encountered in my life they aren't a fraction of the bigotry you've faced retelling filled my thoughts with countless fears it took every ounce of will power that i've ever had to force myself to hold back all of my tears

American laws are framed to serve members of the upper class and politically elite. The injustices that immigrants are faced with each day are undeserved and based on irrational prejudices and traditions that serve to oppress. Let those of European descent remember the discrimination that their families faced when immigrating to America not long ago. Rather than differentiating over minute details such as skin color and spoken language, consider how similar you are to fellow human beings who are striving to live and enjoy life just like yourself. Thank you José.–NJ

08 DEPRESSION

depression of this type is a life i'll never know oppression from infancy which is later self-imposed obsession with unrealistic imagery cannot take off your mind expression of true beauty is extinguished over time culture that we live in is structured in such a way the manner in which we're socialized trained simply to impress held to unrealistic standards from our first breathing day in spite of social advancements we continue to regress apply makeup shave your legs to be beautiful diet pills no cheek bones you'd rather see bare skull? pump iron dress well learn to work on cars eat meat take 'roids if ya do you'll get real far the standards to which we hold ourselves are absurd and obsolete ingrained in our minds by role models parents teachers celebrities fuck these 1950s ideals love you because you're you is it really novel today to truly love oneself? fuck this depression

The intense social pressures that surround us everyday can be overwhelming. Steering away from them can be extremely difficult, but it is possible. Be proud of your body and of who you are. Thank you to my friend who inspired me to write this song, because I would not be the same without you.–NJ

09 STRESSED OUT

go fuckin’ crazy rip my hair out don’t know what to do i’m just so stressed out i can’t take living like this sometimes i feel just like i’ve pissed away my life away my world i think about it and i wanna hurl didn’t turn out like i planned it hopes and dreams have been abandoned i feel so helpless lost and scared i wanna change i don’t care ripping my hair out i’m so stressed out

It is easy to become consumed by one’s own personal problems, and for this to result in irrational thoughts and behaviors. I believe that this is a trait that can be acquired by residing in New Jersey. Listen to Bones Brigade and Cut The Shit.–NJ

10 DEER BLOOD

side of the road look over here "is that a dog?" "no!" "i hope it's a deer!" how ignorant and self-absorbed can you be? just cuz you're attached to dogs and cats emotionally doesn’t serve as a sufficient justification further embed ideas of species elitism you're values are skewed laced with hypocrisy well i'm a hypocrite too to a lesser degree at least i admit that i am imperfect no self-righteous being no elitist dick trained not to care dehumanized the fuck will it take for you to open your eyes? "i hope it's a deer!" "better not be a dog!" well what have we here? no fucking difference if it was a murdered dog or cat their cns is equivalent of that of deceased lives you quickly disregard humans destroy the earth remain arrogant

Respect animals, fuck cars, fuck you, and most of all; fuck me for being a hypocrite who drives.–NJ

Thanx

Thanks to everyone who came to our last show last Saturday. Black Kites, Coerced, and Veloz were all terrific and it was everything we could have asked for in a last show. Keep a look out for pictures and video (thanx Anthony and Stroodles) in the near future.

Three weeks ago, we recorded False Hypothesis in our basement. It is currently being mixed and mastered. We will be putting up our discography download link in the very near future. It will include ten songs: False Hypothesis, 5 from the Dudes Don't Die tape, and 4 from the Split 7" w/Rip It Up. Keep reading this for accessibility to this download.

I leave you with a review from Jeff D., and a list of our past shows.

Stressed Out- Dudes Don't Die (pro-tape)
I was expecting this tape to be more metal sounding after having seen Stressed Out somewhat recently. The second the first note hit, I thought the guitars sounded like Slayer- Reign in Blood tone. On their split w/ Rip It Up they had a more early 2000's era thrash sound, but now it looks like they completely changed into a late 80's crossover thrash band. The guitars are definitely metal (I guess that's what happens when "Metal Pete" and "Metal Joe" are in your band), but the song structure is definitely more on the HC side (verse-chorus-verse-chorus-breakdown-etc). I think if they just went straight thrash metal, and ditched any scrap of hardcore they'd be onto something there. I wish there were lyrics included (READ HERE), since a lot of bands like this tend to have terrible lyrics. This is way better than the average Municipal Waste rip-off band though.

Last show June 5. Dudes DO Die.

Dudes DO Die

After much consideration, Stressed Out is breaking up. This band has been so much fun and so important to my mental health. The past two years have been terrific and have meant more to me as a person than I can currently express in words.

It totally sucks, but let's all make this last show a positive end for us all. It is with Black Kites (who are outstanding) and Coerced and Veloz, who are both from Boston. We may put out another tape for this June 5 show. I am not sure, being that this is sixteen days away.

I want to take this time to thank a bunch of people.

Mike Davis, thank you for being the ‘sixth member’ of this band. You supported us at every local show we played and were there from the very beginning when we sucked. You always looked out for me. You contributed more to the band than I did at some points. Through this band, we became best friends. You won’t believe me, but this band would not have been the same without you. Thank you.

Pat Gerity, thank you for putting out our tape. I know we do not sound like other Ride The Fury bands, and I will always appreciate that you did this for us. Thanks again bud.

In no particular order, people that deserve our greatest thanks:

Hub City Hardcore, Nick and Mark/Seasick (you have helped us so much), Rob Santucci/Zhenia Golov and million other bands (handsome dude), Jay, Jeff, Tom/Black Kites (best band in NJ), Jordan, Justin/John Wilkes Youth crew, Dystrophy (the hesh), Dethroned Emporer (this is half of us), Anthony Battiato (the handsomest), George and Pat/Shitfit (nicest people in the world), George Googa and Mike/Rip It Up (we’ll always be dudes with ’tudes), Rock Star Phil and RnRHQ, Matt Alley (for absolutely nothing in particular), Scott and AJ/Worlds, Dan/Chambers (ACAB), Dave/Outlast, Drucker/Silent Way, Amit/Torchbearer, Lauren and Adam/Dead Limbs, Madden/Fleshtemple, Ryan and John/Killin It and your wild budz, Ray Strife, Miller/GDP, Former Thieves, Ryan and Erik/Bosnia, Justin and Erin (x-S.O. we were really wild), Phil Parenti (for constant support and being completely awesome), Joe/The Best Of The Worst, Jose, Spina/Hub City Food Not Bombs, Nick Nocetti, Alana, Alisa, John Terry/Rapid Cities, Troublemaker, Anna/Battle School, Timm Sparks/Unmen, Jim, Ryan, Dennis and the Terrordome kids (let’s get vegan pizza), Cobra Lung (let’s get Cinco), The Don (Heart A Tact rules), Craig/The Degenerics, Tom/Mattress, Cristian and Meat Town kids, Steve Hackett, Big B, Matty T., and the SHORE KIDS, Lisa/Allston, Sayuri/Ke Chu-Cha, Justin/Killed By The Bull, Amelia/ABC No Rio, Ben/Pizza Face, Mazz, Dennis and Casey/The Rayguns, Nick Consalvo and William (for great talks), Chris and Grundl/Guilt Trip, Alex/Young Mountain, Greg/Deathrats, Alex/Eddie Brock, Charm City Art Space, Bragg and Wonton, Dan/Broken Bodies, Russell/Cold And Come Of Age, Brad, Mike Bickerson/Drive-Thru Pharmacy, Scott/Picked Clean, 1511 House, Ravi Star/Mantra, John Maturo, Ross and Mark/Desperate Measures (Tennessee), Crabtree/Guide, Matt Evans/Just Die, 720 Reed Street, Trashcan, Mike, and Night Skool at the Leathershop, Jon/Edhochuli (what a rad human being), Ben Pittsburgh, Lisa and her parents in Ohio, Geoff/Isolation, Tyler and Josh/Ghosting, Rob/Brain Shivers, Alan/This Bamboo Stick, Enraged, Fight Amp, Hate N War, Greg NJ, my Dad (he has no idea though), and everyone else who has ever helped us in any way. Thank you so much.

Stressed Out are a thrash/punk/hardcore band out of New Brunswick, New Jersey. The band is comprised of members of other Jersey bands like John Wilkes Youth, Dystrophy and Dethroned Emperor. Having only heard John Wilkes Youth I figured these guys fell on the hardcore side of the fence. While they definitely have a hardcore sound, there is much more thrash going on here.

The guitars on this five song cassette are what you would expect from a thrash focused release. Fast riffing, squealing guitar solos and stomping riffs to contrast the faster parts. Still this recording sounds like vintage hardcore. It's snotty and pissed and sounds pretty much exactly like what you expect a young thrash influenced hardcore band to sound like. The band sounds more like Life's Halt than Nuclear Assault. It's not a bad thing, but it isn't quite my thing.

I like crossover, but I prefer hardcore to sound like hardcore and thrash to sound like thrash. Nothing wrong with mixing the two, but I'm real picky when it comes down to it. Stressed Out are a good band and can surely play their istruments, but this EP is somewhat forgettable. I've listened to it about ten times already this morning and none of these songs are sticking, some of the riffs, but only for a couple of seconds.

Fortunately for Stressed Out there are plenty of people who will dig this and I encourage anyone into this style of thrash/hardcore to check them out and decide for yourself.

fuck your bars, d.i.y. shows
stressed fuckin’ out, metal-punk dudes
gotta maintain, a positive metal attitude

DISNEY KIDS

Several years ago I began to realize
That what I’ve been fed my whole life is nothing more than lies
What I’ve taken for truth in stories I’ve been told
Bigoted fairy tales you avariciously wrote
Falsehoods became apparent as I have gotten old
Instead of improvement the truth becomes more remote
Coerce the public eye to consume and to buy
Goods produced internationally thousands of miles from here
Sweatshop controlled labor, bosses watch workers die
You’re oblivious to the fact, your products are stained with foreign tears
How much longer will it take?
For us to eradicate
Corporations like Disney
This is psychological rape
So many say there’s nothing we can do
Change is possible, it’s up to you
Disney kids
And you believed them
Not me, I won't buy it anymore
Not a fucking word

BRUNSWICK COPS

Eighteen years old, shipped off to school
The rigors of academia weren't for you
The only values that seemed to get through
Were frat boy ’tudes and right wing views
Out in the real world, what to do?
bite your lip ’til it comes to you, what about the boys in blue?
Be a cop! Having a gun is cool
Out on the streets you'll finally serve a purpose
Fuck with innocent people who don't even deserve it
Release misguided rage, on those you’re trained to hate
Still have permission from the fucking state
Brunswick cops are frat boys are with guns
Rape and homophobia weren’t enough
Serve the interests of a police state
Embodying a system I fucking hate
Spread bigotry behind a badge and a gun
Without your gang’s protection you’ll be done
Stand against social progress, uphold the “law”
I can’t wait to see your final fall
Lash out on those who get drunk and high
Turn a blind eye to real fucking crimes
I’m not the only one who sees through your lies
I’m not the only one awaiting your demise

THRASH PATROL

It's Friday night, we're on the prowl
Le'ts hit The Hub, ya know that's how
We roll when we stink up the town
Grab Piels, grab Joose, ya know I'm down
Tired as shit from work but, hey
This bub's gonna charge my batteray
Gotta live like this two days a week
By comparison the other five just so bleak
We killed our bub in the first hour
Now we're drinkin' your keg 'n pissin' in your shower
We won't remember shit, we've lost control
Stressed fuckin' Out, thrash patrol
Thrash patrol will wreck your party
You're ready to finish, we're just gettin' started
If Metallica and Blink are on your iPod
Ya better start prayin' to your stupid god
You're bewildered we mosh to this
Don't be perplexed, get into it!
We'll probably be doin' this gray 'n old
Dudes don't die, thrash patrol
We're reppin' S.O., thrash patrol
Eeveryone knows that we're wild, assholes
How did we get here? No idea
Ask me tomorrow, I won't remember
Who are you people? thrash patrol
I'm tryna eat, asshole
Whose room did I sneak in? No idea
I'd like to apologize but I won't, I won't remember

UNACCEPTABLE

born into a world of hate and violence
few question what their thoughts represent
we must all speak out, complacency is silence
oppression everyday, we will not sit content
homophobic fucking scum need to realize
break free from the mindset in which you were socialized
to believe is an acceptable way to treat people
your elitist foundation is so fucking full
of shit to the brim of your core beliefs
no form of defense for the hate you preach
you’re not welcome in our community
fuck your marginalization, work towards unity
so sick of defensive hetero arguments
your system of beliefs is what i stand against
separate but equal doesn’t fucking work
i said it in ’08, death to fucking jerks
unacceptable are your views
get out of our community
