STRESSED OUT / RIP IT UP:
Split: 7”
Look, I know you don’t care what I have to say about the music. All you want to know is which Arrested Development character they thanked on the liner notes. The answer is Tobias. If you like good hardcore punk bands who watch great comedy television programs, you can’t go wrong with Rip It Up. Stressed Out thanks a lot of people I’ve never heard of. Obviously, they are lesser human beings for not thanking a fictional character. B+. I still don’t trust download codes though. –Bryan Static (Self-released)

Stressed Out/ Rip It Up
This is a split between 2 NJ bands who have toured together in the past. Stressed Out kick things off playing thrashy hardcore similar to Cut The Shit or Bones Brigade. I seem to remember their demo having a little bit more metal/crossover influence. Aside from one (poorly) overdubbed solo in "Deer Blood," it's pretty much a straight thrasher. The lyrics are more socially conscious than the average party thrash band, which is really nice to see. On the flip side Rip It up kick things off with a really moshy intro. I kind of wish their songs were more along the lines of this intro, as the rest of their songs are more fast. I think musically, this reminds me a lot of the first Suicidal Tendencies LP. Overall, the songs could be a little tighter, but I think if they have some potential. A solid split by 2 newer local bands.

March 28: Stressed Out and Black Kites cassette release show

hello everyone. thanks to everyone who came out two weeks ago to support our iowa friends former thieves. wow, do those dudes wail! check out their one-sided (non-)LP "the great and the alleged great." it's terrific. ter-RIFF-ic.

we are very excited to release our tape in two weeks with our good friends black kites. you can pre-order the DUDES DON'T DIE tapes here: ridethefury.bigcartel.com if you cannot attend the release show March 28. they are $5.00 USD shipped to your door.

in case you have been sleeping, seriously listen to black kites. they are currently one of my three favorite bands in new jersey. can you guess the other two? here is a hint: they are all vegan and/or straight edge. this guessing game is probably not fun for anyone except jordan bard and myself though.

here are the shows we are playing for the remainder of March:

Sat. March 20, 2010 (Philadelphia, PA) @ JR’s w/ Loafass, Fuck Attack, Disclosure (WV)

Fri. March 26, 2010 (Middletown, CT) @ Carlo's Studio w/ Pizza Face, It's Alive

Sun. March 28, 2010 (New Brunswick, NJ) Stressed Out and Black Kites cassette release show. w/ Troublemaker.

This show is a Ride The Fury Cassette series dual-release show. Black Kites is releasing seven brand new songs on the "I Won't Accept What We've Become" cassette. Stressed Out is releasing five brand new songs on the "Dudes Don't Die" cassette. Each tape is limited to (/100) copies and can be purchased here if you cannot attend: ridethefury.bigcartel.com
